Paul Walker died Saturday after the Porsche Carrera GT he was riding in as a passenger crashed and caught fire in California. His death quickly went viral with some people hoping it was just another celebrity-death hoax. Sadly, it wasn't.

People rallied on social media, and on Twitter, "RIPPaulWalker", "Fast & Furious" and "Brian O' Connor" quickly became worldwide trending topics. Fans and costars shared memories and condolences on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

A lot will change as the film franchise, which has earned more than $2.3 billion worldwide since 2001, scrambles to decide the brand's future. The cast and crew was on break at the time of Walker's death.

Who will fill Walker's shoes in the franchise now? Or will Universal even replace him with someone else? The film's shooting may be delayed, but its current schedule remains intact, and will arrive in theaters this July.
