Sleeping Better Now Will Help Prevent Memory Loss When You’re Old

Can't sleep much at night? Party hard at night but have to wake up early? You'd better start incorporating some good sleeping habits soon, because scientists have shown that sleep deprivation in early adult life is linked to memory problems when you're old.
A report by Science Daily says that the amount and quality of sleep you get at night may have a profound effect on your memory later in life. The research was done by Washing University School of Medicine in St Louis.
The team of researchers showed that disrupted sleep appears to be associated with the build up amyloid plaques, which is a indicator of Alzheimer's disease. They showed that people who spend less tha 85 percent of their time in bed actually sleeping or those who wake up more than five times per hour were significantly likely to have markers of early stage Alzheimer's disease.
