That's one way of getting people to pay attention to your new line of diet products. Unilever Germany has received quite a bit of criticism for using the above tagline as a way to encourage consumers to eat as much as they like of its Du Darfst products:

According to Ad Age, the brand's website has references using the expletive, and even encourages users to download a badge bearing the "Fuck the Diet" slogan. Only their Facebook page does not spell out the tagline in full.

Many aren't that impressed by the so-called 'play with words,' and have since spoken up against the campaign. Here's what Unilever had to say about the backlash:
"Although the current Du Darfst campaign has become a bit of a talking point in Germany -- as effective marketing should -- it is targeted specifically at German consumers and uses language that we do not believe most German consumers find offensive."
