Just when you thought we were this close to breaking that glass ceiling, someone just had to ruin everything. According to a recent Gallup poll, 40 percent of the women surveyed said they preferred a male boss, 32 percent had no preference, while only 27 percent preferred a female one.

This is pretty alarming, seeing as only 29 percent of men polled said they preferred a male boss, 18 percent prefer a female one, while a staggering 51 percent had no preference. Perhaps this fear stems from the media's common depiction of lady bosses:

If things continue this way, the workplace gender gap is never going to close in. Should we all realize now that when it comes to being a leader, we should be looking at the person's capabilities and not their gender?
