Project Poppy's goal is to allow you to 3D print and assemble your own humanoid robot to play around with. The design team behind the project imagines a world where bipedal robots can be printed and assembled and programmed by their owners.
Every part of Poppy can be 3D printed via standard 3D printer. The only problem for now: Poppy can't quite walk on its own. But it is getting close to walking more like a human already.
Poppy's thighs are curved inward like a human's to offer better balance. Its feet flex, creating a natural heel-toe footfall and its shoes provide balance data via an array of sensors.
If Poppy is capable of walking on its own in its next iteration, the developers will share their designs with other labs.
